Mr. Stephen (“Steve”) Kain has been an associate with Polatsek, Counsellors At Law since 1992. Mr. Kain has been licensed to practice law by the Supreme Court of the State of Florida since 1994. Prior to that he was licensed to practice in the States of New York, New Jersey, and New Hampshire.

Mr. Kain graduated from the University of Virginia with a major in European Studies in 1975. Thinking he would pursue a career in the Foreign Service he attended the George Washington University School of Advanced International Studies and received his Master of Arts in International Affairs in 1977. After two years in Washington, D.C., he decided against the Foreign Service and attended the School of Law at Case Western Reserve University receiving his Juris Doctorate degree in 1980.

He spent the next year as a law clerk to the Superior Court of New Jersey in Salem County before entering the United States Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps in the fall of 1981. He was commissioned as a Captain and stationed at Fort Ord in Monterey, California for the next three years. As a Legal Assistance attorney to the military community in the region, Steve became the post Immigration attorney providing family based immigration and naturalization services to the service members and their families.

Mr. Kain’s primary areas of practice call on his business planning and family law backgrounds. In our firm, he focuses on investor and intra-company transfer visa cases as well as specialty occupation (H-1B, E-3 and TN) visas. In addition, he works with professional athletes, artists and recognized business people from around the world in obtaining P and O visas for their extraordinary ability in their careers. After twenty years with our firm, he is looking forward to the next twenty years helping people to realize their American dream.
